Some of the world's biggest food companies have ganged up to try and deny you better information about the food you eat.
That's why we need your help. We want to stand up to the food industry and demand reliable and easy-to-understand food labelling for all Australians.
First food companies refused to implement a traffic light system, despite evidence that it's easy for shoppers to understand. Now they're trying to knock off the star rating system, recently agreed to by all state and federal governments.
For years, Cancer Council and CHOICE have been united in their fight to improve labelling on the front of food products so you can make the healthiest choice when you need to. And we're on the brink of a major breakthrough with the star rating system recently agreed to and getting ready to roll out.
But some in the food industry are reluctant to support the system they helped develop, demanding a return to confusing and arbitrary "serving sizes" and dodgy daily intake percentages.
Tell health ministers you support the Health Star Rating Scheme - as agreed, no changes.
We support the star rating system, which tells you at a glance the content of key nutrients per 100g/mL (or for the whole packet if it's designed to be eaten in one go), making it quick and simple to compare products.
Help us secure better nutrition labelling. Be a star and sign our petition in support of the star rating system.
