The opening session on food waste management at the Australasian Waste and Recycling Expo (AWRE) featuring one of Australia's most influential figures on environmental issues, Jon Dee, founder of Do Something! and the NSW Australian of the Year 2010. Jon will deliver an opening keynote address about the need to minimise the resources, fuel and energy that we waste in producing our food.
This will be followed by a panel discussion covering a commercial organics collection trial in Sydney CBD undertaken by the Better Buildings Partnership, the opportunities offered by the benefits of compostable polymers in packaging to reduce food waste and what has and has not worked in Council collections in Australia and the United Kingdom.
You'll also hear more about the inspiring and practical BASF organics recovery program being trialled at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre during the Expo.
