| Ingredients |
8 ounces Pearl barley
2 x Onions, brown
4 x Potatoes
.5 tablespoon Thyme
1 D Parsley, chopped
300 ml Milk
1 ounce Butter
|
| Garnish |
Serve with toast, croutons or bread rolls. |
| Method |
Pick
and wash the barley, chop up the onions, slice the potatoes. Boil the
whole gently for 4
hours with 2 litres of water, adding the butter, thyme, pepper and salt
to taste. When the barley is quite soft, add the milk and parsley, boil
the soup up, and serve. |
